Twist N Clip Review, a Good Hair Styling Solution?

Have you ever seen someone pull their hair back and stick it effortlessly into a glamorous twist?  I always wished I had the ability to do that, but I’ve never been able to master it.  Enter Twist n Clip!  When I saw the commercial, I knew I had to try it.  So what is it?

Twist n Clip is a way to easily style your hair in just a few minutes time. This product is another one of the infamous “As Seen on TV” line of products, which unfortunately made me skeptical  as soon as I saw it.  However, it is very appealing for me to have something that can look stylish, keep my hair out of my face, and be used quickly.  I usually go for a ponytail, but always wish I could do something a little more chic.

I decided that, despite my reservations, I would check it out.  Some hair styling products work and others do not, so where does Twist n Clip fall on the spectrum? Let’s take a look at the claims and whether it really works as it claims.

Overview

Basically, the Twist n Clip looks like a large, glorified bobby pin.  Maybe not exactly the same as a bobby pin, but certainly not fancy.  It’s just a shaped “pin” that you put in your hair, twist, and then hook at the end.  Simple?  Definitely.  It gets two thumbs up from me for that.

The commercial says it works with all hair types – limp, stringy hair or long, thick curly hair and every type in between.  It also comes with a glass “tattler” which is essentially a little bling for the end of the clip.  Sort of a jeweled strand that hangs down from where the clip is.

The clip is versatile and can help create several different hair styles.  It comes in 3 shades: bronze, black, and blonde.

The Claim

The claim is that Twist n Clip can save loads of time in the morning simply by using one clip to twist and hold your hair in place. It’s just the right size for all types and thicknesses of hair, according to the sellers. Twist n Clip’s site says you can get multiple styles from using this small hair clip. It’s supposed to be great for swimming, the playground or when you want to get a glamorous hair style.

The Hype

The hype is that it is a little device that allows you to do lots of things with your hair in a short period of time. It is relatively inexpensive so you can use it and get a big bang for your buck. Consumers are looking for something that will actually work when styling their hair.

The device comes with easy to use directions. You can collect the hair into a medium height ponytail.  You then twist the pony tail straight up after making 2 to 4 turns. They then use the Twist N Clip and slide it underneath. It can be clipped like a safety pin and closed so you have a closed pin in your hair.

The Cost

The Twist n Clip is currently only available at the manufacturers official site and costs $10.00 for 3 with a $6.99 shipping charge. This product comes with 3 hair clips, and the Twist and n Clip style guide. It also comes with a clear glass “tattle tail” that can make your styles unique. For a device that promises to make your life easier, that seems to be a pretty good deal. It also comes with a bonus 3-pack of Twist n Clips in the same color. You also get the crystal black tattle tail as part of the featured price.

The Commitment

There obviously is not much of a commitment in buying clips for your hair. This is something that many people can afford and use, especially for those that have a busy lifestyle and need an easy way to style their hair.  Hair clips are not particularly expensive, but to use something that is durable, and comes with a style guide is unique. Those that always wonder about what to do with their hair will appreciate the guide.

Reviews

Twist n Clip reviews show that most individuals that purchase this device are happy with it. They say that it works really well with long thick curly hair, so it basically does what it says that it is going to do. Other individuals weren’t happy with the shipping, but by and large the reviews have been very positive about this product. Those that have the product feel that it works as was promised.  Some users have said they don’t care for the tattler, but that’s not a big issue.

Another Twist n Clip review says that if you need a way to put your hair up, and are unable to find conventional hair clips that work for you, this might be what you need. The costs are low enough that people are happy with the product.

For those that are undecided about Twist n Clip, try looking at some of the reviews sites and make a decision about whether this product is worth purchasing. A Brainetics Review

According to a nurse mom who had some difficulties helping her child concentrate on studying and minimize playing time, Brainetics made it a lot easier for all of them in her household. We feel that we should also offer a little disclaimer here.  No matter how great the Brainetics program is, it will not work if a child too young to learn at a certain level or if there are other factors such as sickness, a noisy environment, an empty stomach, etc.  Most parents have the common sense to recognize this, but it doesn’t hurt to say it as a caution.

On the whole, however, reviews of the Brainetics program have been extremely positive.  If you or your child or someone you know is looking to improve their thinking and learning skills, we highly recommend trying it.

This Smartphone is made to show customers the power of Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has enjoyed a pretty decent level of popularity since the initial installment of the Nexus series, the Nexus One.

Of course, aside from the box itself, you will get the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, plus some other things for the phone. This puts it at the same level of the Samsung Galaxy S2, which is the best phone nowadays in regard to this aspect. It can also connect to the internet through Wi-Fi connections. One other great feature is that you can use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot and provide connections to other devices such as laptops or tablets.

Ice Cream Sandwich

The Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS has a lot of fantastic features that make the Samsung Galaxy Nexus a very powerful Smartphone.

First is the updated user interface; the notification bar and menu designs have gotten a facelift. The widgets can be resized to your liking and in place of using hard buttons there are virtual buttons as well as systems bars that you can use across all apps. Also, a button for the camera can be found on the lock screen, making picture takings a bit quicker and easier.

The organization and navigation of this phone have also been improved. You can swipe left-right for page navigation. The new OS also comes with highly customizable home screens plus the feature to organize applications into folders by using a drag-drop function, something that iPhone users have touted as being unique to them.

There are also lots of extra features for the camera. There is the native panorama functionality, picture sharing with 3rd party applications, zoom-in while recording a video, photo editing tolls, picture cropping, red-eye removal, and much more.

The new keyboard of Ice Cream Sandwich is also packed with improved features. It has better spellchecker, word suggestion and error correction features.

The contact book is also getting a few revamps. In the previous versions of Android, the phonebook and calendar were somewhat lame. Now, they have a neatly laid-out column that resembles a desktop and bundles contacts together using their headings. It can get a little confusing, however, when Google+ adds its contacts to your phonebook, giving you extra contracts which makes it harder for you to find what you are looking for, although this is not a big issue.

There are many other features of this operating system, like the upgraded Google mail, which now has an edit bar for searching and offline searching, as well as visual voicemail, which is capable of assimilating messages from both the applications of the phone and 3rd party apps.

There are also many hidden Easter eggs on Ice Cream Sandwich. You just have to find them yourself. They are loads of fun and this is a very nice creation of Google.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is really a great Smartphone, and about as up-to-date and speedy as you can get right now. Its big features like the resolution of the screen will set it apart from others and with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS, it can perform to the best of its potential.

It is currently available through Amazon Wireless for only $0.01, with a Verizon contract. Still pretty hard to beat!

The Samsung Galaxy S3 features the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform. The 4G Internet connection is fast, and the dual-core processor makes it even faster. The eight-megapixel camera takes pictures with exceptional quality with the help of S Beam, software that is designed to enhance photographs. For the features offered by Samsung, the pricing is appropriate. Many people are pleased with the performance of this phone.

Samsung is known for producing phones that perform. The Galaxy S II sold over 50 million units worldwide, and the Galaxy S3 is expected to be no different. The pre-sale orders in the U.K. set a record. Many of the features exceed expectations. Users can expect the phone to include features such as: 1280×720 screen resolution, flexible glass or FOLED Technology, 4.8-inch Screen, 4G Internet capabilities and an 8-megapixel Camera.

The price of the Galaxy S3 is approximately $900 retail, but it is offered on Amazon for as low as $699 without a contract. With an AT&T contract, the phone can be obtained for $189. Other providers may offer different deals. The phone is currently available for back-order on Amazon.com. Users are encouraged to shop around to find the best price. Warranties, insurance plans and upgrades may affect the overall price of the Samsung Galaxy phone.

Commitment

The Samsung Galaxy phone operates, for the most part, according to specifications. There may be some features that may be frustrating to use, but overall the phone performs as stated by the manufacturer. Usually, Samsung products perform true to specification, or the company would not be as successful in selling volumes of smartphones.

Evaluation

Overall, there are more advantages to the phone than disadvantages. The phone allows consumers the ability to customize the phone to their specifications. The phone only has three physical buttons: Power, volume and Home. Most buttons are virtual. Samsung focuses on wireless connectivity. Thus, the phone is missing a mini HDMI port and MHL port. The battery cover is easy to remove and allows accessibility to the 2100 mAh battery.

Disadvantages: Common Complaints

  1. Extended Battery Power. The screen and 4G service are the source of much of the battery drain in extended use. When not in use it is recommended to turn off the 4G.
  2. Screen Dim. Users also reported the screen being too dim in normal lighting conditions.
  3. Gorilla Glass Ineffective. Gorilla Glass does not always protect against scratches. Additional protective screens may be required.
  4. Screen Smudges Easily. The screen attracts smudges easily.
  5. No Dedicated HDMI or MHL. Without a dedicated HDMI, some devices cannot be attached without an adapter or NFC technology.

Final Review

Since the phone is newly released, the evidence is inconclusive about whether the phone will live up to the hype that has been generated. Experts expect that Samsung will have another top seller based upon the rumors swirling around the phone. The fast processor, Super AMOLED screen, 8-megapixel camera, 2GB Ram and 4G Internet are enough to pique the interest of the masses.

Our Recommendations

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is recommended based on the specifications and features. If Samsung improves the battery life for heavy use and improves S Voice, there will be little to complain about the phone aside from the usability of infrequently-used features. At the time of this writing this is the most powerful and functional phone on the market.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review, The Pros and Cons

We all know that Android has saved the lives of those who just couldn’t bring themselves to go the Apple route with their smart phones and tablets.  Let’s face it – Apple’s whole proprietary thing has turned off a lot of would-be users.  That said, with the recent release of the iPad 3, technology buffs who are unwilling to compromise have been wondering what they’ll do to keep up with the latest gear.

Enter the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7 inch).  The first version of the Tab 2 series has already created quite a lot of hype.  Android lovers won’t be disappointed with this tablet, which runs Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest in Android technology.

Some details

First, to be clear, Samsung has already released the 7 inch version, which debuted in February 2012.  In just a few days from the date of this article, they’ll be launching the 10.1 inch version.

The Tab 2 has 1GB RAM and a 1 GHz dual-core processor.  That makes for about the best speed you can get in a mobile device.  Internet browsing is super-fast and screen transitions are smooth.  And, of course, you can run all the new apps supported by ICS.

The best thing about this tablet is that it is lighter and slimmer than the other comparable tablets. Its width is 7.6 inches and it weighs only 0.74 pounds, which is almost half the weight of the new iPad 3.

The design is not much different from Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. The side buttons are a bit more defined and it has rounded corners which give it an elegant look.

Another good feature is that it has up to 8 GB internal storage along with 32 GB of external storage memory which can be made use of through the microSD card slot. Also, it comes with af 50 GB Dropbox account which is completely free for one year. As this new OS is very efficient, the tablet does not get stuck trying to access the microSD card, a flaw which users noticed in the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus version.

Specifications include a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels (iPad 3 has 2048 x 1536 pixels!), image resolution  of 2048 x 1536, and camera features such as self timer, smile shutter and geo-tagging. Also, it has excellent Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS and supports a wide range of audio and video formats.

Starting with the cons

Customer reviews show that people are unhappy that the front camera, which had a 2-megapixels resolution in Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Tab 7.7, has been replaced with a VGA camera. However, the back camera still has a resolution of 3-megapixels.

Frankly, all this fuss about a front facing camera seems ridiculous to me.  Have you ever used your tablet to take pictures?  I mean, actually used it, not just tried it out a few times when you first got it.  Most people use their smart phones, which are far more practical, or a good old-fashioned (lol) digital camera.  I have yet to come across someone carrying their tablet around for picture taking purposes.  Even so the front facing camera is just for video chatting, lower res = less data = easier on your data plan. The rear facing camera is 3mp which is more than sufficient for snapping the odd picture on that day you decided to carry your tablet instead of your phone, lol.

Another common issue mentioned by users is the inappropriate location of the light sensor. The function of this sensor is to adjust the brightness of the screen automatically by sensing the light present at the location at which the device is situated. Users complain that while holding and using the device their hands frequently cover the sensor which leads to readjustment of the brightness. While not ideal the solution to this problem is to turn off the auto-brightness in your settings so that the sensor stops working.

And now for the pros

One feature common to Samsung tablets and much appreciated by users is the TouchWiz UI skin. This enables the user to access application quickly and comes with Media Hub, Music Hub and Game Hub.  Obviously the Tab 2 incorporates this technology as well.

The AllShare Play feature enables the user to watch the movies and photos downloaded on the tablet on their Samsung TV, mobile device or laptop with the ‘push to watch’ option. It also enables you to upload and download data securely from the web as it acts as a web storage service. You can also create a backup of all your data here.

An advanced feature is the IR blaster together with Peel’s Smart Remote application. This enables you to turn your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) into a TV remote device. All your TV channels can be easily accessed on it and viewed on your TV screen with a single touch. The setup of this application is fairly simple and requires basic information about your ZIP code, TV make and model along with name of cable or satellite supplier.

Do not think of it as a simple remote, because it lets you to choose the shows you would like to watch while detaining others that you dislike. You can also browse through your favorite shows by category, a very useful feature.

An unfortunate issue that users have, and one that is actually not Samsung’s fault, is that sometimes the device lists shows on channels which are not playing at that channel at that time. This is because the tablet shows whatever information it gets from the cable or satellite provider, which can be inaccurate as many of us have already discovered from past experience.

Of course, the biggest Pro is that this tablet costs $250.  There’s just not another tablet out there that can boast the same features for this price point.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 inch

Just launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has pretty much the same features as its 7.0 inch kin, but with a price of $400 it is cheaper than most of the bigger tablets. In fact, this is the biggest size yet reached in the world of Android tablets, and the iPad 3 is still struggling at 9.5 inches.
